Love or Hate

I spent a majority of the weekend at the Franklin Graham Festival in Knoxville. It was a great event and we saw God call many into relationship with Him. There was great music. I was a part of a 1800 voice choir. That is pretty cool! and Loud! But probably 2 things stick out. First, George Beverly Shay is 99 years old and still sings with great fervor and passion. Cliff Barrows is 89 and still has it too! I believe that is because they have never retired. They are still called and pursuing that calling. Retirement is not in the Bible by the way. Second, Sin is sin. No matter how tolerant we want to be, their is still stuff that God hates and separates us from Him. I believe we often mask the problem of sin in the name of loving. True we are supposed to love God and people, but scripture tells to hate sin because God hates it. We are not allowed to hate people. So, which carries more weight or impact in our world today, hating sin or loving people? I get caught between the two some days. Thank God for his grace and the fact that I don't have to make one more important than the other. We are called to do both and with the help of the Holy Spirit, we can.
